Malaysia Government Debt to GDP


The Government Debt in Malaysia was last reported at 54.2 percent of the country´s GDP. From 1990 until 2010, Malaysia's average Government Debt to GDP was 47.20 percent reaching an historical high of 79.50 percent in December of 1990 and a record low of 31.80 percent in December of 1997. Generally, Government debt as a percent of GDP is used by investors to measure Malaysia's ability to make future payments on its debt, thus affecting Malaysia's borrowing costs and government bond yields.
